VINTAGE INTAGLIO ETCHED CARNELIAN NECKLACE STERLING SILVER FISHING FISHERMAN

Transitional Edwardian / Art Deco period, extremely intricate etched intaglio carnelian front clasp necklace, open back prong set stones in sterling silver filigree setting with bead work surround and floral sterling elements/spacers - terrific vintage condition. Carved scenic of a young man wearing hat, stylized jacket and vest, boots, fishing on a bank, foliage at left and foreground, stone/sand/water all carved, looks like either a dragonfly or butterfly on one knee, fishing rod and line extends from above top prong to bottom prong with caught fish on line (see Pictures #1 and #7) - simply amazing detail. It was hard to capture all the detail due to carnelian's slight curve, I've used both natural light (excuse background reflections) and studio lighting plus a lot of tight shots to try and best show you.
Measurements details: 14 7/8" wearable length (to increase length without changing look/integrity, your jeweler could easily increase jump rings from 1 to 3 between each smaller carnelian); intaglio carnelian gracefully curved element approximately 1" square with rounded corners; 5/16" deep surrounded by a single row of small beads and sterling silver filigree setting. Smaller un-carved carnelians 1/2" by just over 3/8" (not quite square but almost, again, slightly rounded corners); sterling silver floral elements 3/4" x 1/4"; I have not polished the Sterling leaving that decision to buyer; secure box clasp marked Sterling with tab to open left side of intaglio element (Pictures: #2, on back #10 and #11); extremely comfortable, weighs only 17.6 grams. This is an absolutely exceptional intaglio necklace for you to enjoy - such phenominal detail - great period fishing image - thank you!
