Antique 1920's Elaborate Blue Crystal Czech/Bohemian? Necklace Needs Some TLC
The color of this faceted crystal is stunning, really, like a Sapphire blue, very clean and clear. These look to my eye to be Czech stones, even the small round ones are faceted. Coupled with the fancy and intricate brass hardware, seems to be a Czech piece.
The large stone is 1.25" long! And without chips at all. It looks like it was pasted or cemented into the fancy surround and there is residue from that, the
large stone will need to be reset
into the surround as it is a bit crooked. Not loose.
The necklace also has no clasp.
I think at some point in its history it was shortened and you can see that it is
missing one set of smaller round beads
to match the opposite side, so possibly take the other away and make a smaller necklace (a choker)? One more thing is that there
appears to be two 'tassle rods' missing
on either side, there are presently 11 rods (see photo 11).
The necklace part is 17" long and the necklace altogether with drop and tassles is 22".
I do think this is worth spending some time with this necklace, because of its beauty and historical value. The buy it now price reflects all the above issues, but please feel free to make a
reasonable offer.
